HOME ASSISTANT

A home assistant works at home environment and provides social services for vulnerable groups; his help is aimed at improving the lifestyle of people with disabilities and supporting their involvement in social activities. His duties include support for:
• taking everyday care of the patient’s home
• support of the patient in his personal hygiene – help in different activities including daily toilet etc;
• arranging the menu, supply of necessary food (with money provided by the client), cooking (ordering) of the desired food, serving and cleaning the table, help (if needed) in feeding;
• buying medicines and basic necessities (again with the patient’s money);
• carrying out minor repairs and care for the house (paying bills, taxes, etc. with money of the client);

 

REQUIREMENTS ABOUT THE POSITION 

Requirements for the applicant:

• be at the age of 18 or older at the time of the application;
• be in a good physical and psychological health;
• have positive attitude and desire to work in the field of elderly care, child care and people with disabilities.

The content of training for home assistant again is consistent with the methodology for the provision of services similar to that of a social assistant.

The training for home assistant last from few months to two years.
