SOCIAL ASSISTANT
The Social Assistant takes care for elderly people living alone, for severely ill people or people with disabilities and he/ she works in the house of the client. His duties are related with:
• organization of the care and daily activities of the elderly by providing the necessary conditions for that;
• care of to the health and the safety of the client by proposing measures to reduce or eliminate (if possible) the risks in his home;
• in an emergency case to inform the GP or the contact person of the client;
• organization and support in various activities carried out in the home and beyond, entertainments, communication and maintaining social contacts;
• assistance in preparing the necessary documents to pass trough the commissions responsible for social pension and assistance in placement and / or discharge from the hospital;
• taking care after hospitalization, rehabilitation and others;
• taking into account being confidential about the patient except in the cases when the his health is at risk.
The content of training includes the topics of The methodology for provision of the "social assistance" service:
• Guiding principles, rules and procedures in order to provide the service "Social Assistant";
• Management of key risks;
• Organization and management of service delivery.
The duration of training for social assistant is approximately 250 hours.
REQUIREMENTS FOR INTRODUCTORY LEVEL QUALIFICATION OR EXPERIENCE
In order to practice the profession of "social assistance", it is not required to have lower qualifications or experience. In case you have a "Social work and counseling" and "Home Services" training, it is recognized but you need further training. The type of training that you will take part is determined by comparing your skills with those described in the educational requirements for professional qualification. If you have experience as a social assistant, you can continue training for higher skills, which is conducted in accordance with the educational requirements. After reaching the second level professional qualification "social assistant", you can continue to develop as a professional in order to gain a third level qualification.
REQUIREMENTS ABOUT THE POSITION:
Requirements for the applicants:
• successful completion of primary education (8th grade);
• be at the age 18 or older at the time of the application;
