HOMECARE WORKER - Assistente FamiliareThe homecare worker helps and assists elderly, sick and disabled. He has knowledge and expertise in various fields: communication and relational, food and home environment management. The homecare worker follow the patient in cleaning and personal hygiene, in dressing and eating when necessary. He should know how to facilitate the movement and displacement of the patient and how to listen, entertain and reassure him/her. In addition to taking care of the person, the homecare worker often manages the house, he is responsible of cleaning, hygiene, reorganization of the domestic environments, preparation of meals. The homecare worker may have to deal with paperwork and errand on behalf of the patient moving into the social and health context. Formal requirements to access the positionTo work as homecare worker directly employed by the families there are no necessary requirements.
